All Blacks fly-half and all-time leading points scorer in test rugby, Dan Carter has lost his sponsorship deal with Land Rover following his drink driving charge.

Carter had been driving near to the Champs Elysees in North West Paris when he was stopped by the police and breathalysed. It was reported that he was found to be twice over the legal drink driving limit in France.

In hearing of his cancelled sponsorship deal with Land Rover, Carted stated: “Over the last few days my management and I have had to front up to my sponsors. Not surprisingly, Land Rover, who for good reason have zero tolerance towards drink driving, have ended their relationship with me. I understand this completely and am disappointed I put them in this position.”

At the time of writing, Carter is still to appear before the French courts.
