A mum of 2, who was caught drink driving twice in a three week period has been refused bail at Lincoln Crown Court.
The court heard how the driver, Faith Espin had been 3 times over the drink-driving limit when she drove across a junction and collided with a single decker bus.
The court was told how the bus driver, who thankfully had no passengers on board, had to take evasive action.
Ms Espin was then to a hospital for minor injuries at which point she was given a blood test which showed her alcohol levels.
A few weeks later Ms Espin was driving her husband’s car when she had a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Witnesses described how she had hobbled away from the car as it caught fire. She left the scene but was found soon after in nearby woodland.
She was taken to the police station where she refused to give a breath sample.
The driver of the other car suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Initially appearing before Magistrates, Ms Espin admitted charges of dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to provide a specimen. The Magistrates refused her bail and she then appealed to Lincoln Crown Court. Bail was again refused and she was remanded in custody until she is sentenced in May.
