The tables will be turned on the country’s best known criminal defence lawyer this week in Blackpool, when he is the one being cross-examined!
For celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman, aka Mr Loophole, will be appearing “in the dock” at Blackpool Sixth Form College on Wednesday (September 10), to answer questions from more than 100 A-Level law students.
During his visit, Mr Freeman – whose clients include Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham and Jimmy Carr, will tell the teenagers about his route in to the legal profession, as well as giving them a flavour of some his most interesting cases. He will then throw the floor open to questions from the young jury.
Nick was invited by the college’s Head of Humanities, Tracy Lowe, who said: “I sent a rather cheeky email to Nick’s office asking if he would consider coming to talk to our students about going for goals and making a mark in life.
“I finished by saying the most famous lawyer from Blackpool is George Carmen, so we are long overdue another one!”
“I’m thrilled he has agreed to visit us and I know the students are very much looking forward to hearing from him and about his career.”
Nick Freeman said: “Tracy’s reference to George Carmen was reason enough to take her up on her offer.
“The prospect of being questioned by a room full of A-Level students is a pretty daunting one, but, like all of my court-room appearances, I will prepare my case very carefully indeed.
“And when it comes to taking questions, I will have to be well and truly on top of my game.”
