Renowned golfer, Tiger Woods has been arrested on charges of drink driving, say reports from Florida.
Records from the police state that he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the early hours of the morning, and released shortly thereafter.
The reports continue, stating that he was released “on his own recognisance” – meaning he has promised to comply with all future legal proceedings following tests determining “an unlawful blood-alcohol level”.
Woods is looking forward to a return to competitive golf following a long-term back injury. On his blog he has stated that, following surgery, he hasn’t felt “this good in years”; although he has added that he is in no hurry to do so.
“I want to play professional golf again but I’m not looking ahead,” said Woods. “I can’t twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”
